I’m a proud native of Lakewood. I was born here, served as Miss Greater Lakewood 2007 and have been a member of the Lakewood Jaycees for 13 years. We are a close-knit residential neighborhood with a strong sense of community, history and pride in our local businesses and nonprofits. It’s a place where times change, but values don’t.
As your City Councilmember I will work to ensure proper resources are allocated to sustain the education, safety and wellbeing of Lakewood’s residents. My focus will be to increase civic engagement opportunities, provide more programming and services for our most vulnerable residents and to ensure our local businesses have the resources they need to succeed in a changing economy. I believe that the Council’s job is to support and protect our parks, libraries, law enforcement and youth programs—all of which helped make me the person I am today and why I’m so passionate about serving Lakewood as a City Councilmember. Join me in upholding our responsibility to believe in and fight for the best.
We must continue to support our K-12, community college, university, trade school and entrepreneurial training. Cassandra Chase will continue to support organizations and develop programs that focus on literacy, leadership, civic, and social entrepreneurial skills.
Keeping our families and neighborhoods safe should be the local government’s top priority. Cassandra Chase will provide the Lakewood police officers and firefighters with the resources needed to continue keeping our community safe.
Our local businesses are the backbone of our economic prosperity. Our small businesses provide many valuable services to our communities residents and they must be supported. Cassandra Chase will work to ensure our local Lakewood businesses have the resources they need to succeed in an evolving economy.
Housing is a human right. It should be accessible and affordable and we need to do everything in our capacity to ensure that our community has adequate space to provide healthy and safe spaces for community residents to reside. Cassandra Chase will take the lead in working on this issue by identifying opportunities that have worked in other communities, listening to the concerns of our current residents, and working to identify and secure funding to help support the development of new homes that are needed to support our ever growing population.
