NEW ENDORSEMENT: Senator Lena Gonzalez, CA Senate District 33

Why I’m Running

I’m running for City Council because I believe in Lakewood – the city that has always believed in me.

Cassandra Chase

My parents have instilled in me the value of service. Volunteering with the Lakewood Jaycees, serving as a former Miss Greater Lakewood, I have always been inspired by our community’s ability to come together toward a common purpose. These are the values that will guide me as your councilmember.

If elected, my focus will be to increase civic engagement opportunities, provide more programming and services for our seniors and youth and to ensure our local businesses have the resources they need to succeed in a changing economy. As a business owner I believe that our local businesses are the backbone of our economic prosperity. We must ensure that they have the support they need to succeed and expand.

I believe that the Council’s job is to support and protect our youth programs, parks, libraries-all of which helped make me the person I am today, which is why I’m so passionate about serving Lakewood as a City Councilmember.

I am proud to say that I was born here, live here, and believe in our future, and would be honored to have you join me in upholding our responsibility to believe in and fight for the best.

If you support me but don’t live in the district, you can still volunteer, donate and encourage your friends, family, and co-workers who do live in East Lakewood to vote for me.

I really hope that you will consider showing your support for me by contributing to my campaign and getting involved.

I look forward to seeing you at the polls on June 7, 2022!

Keeping our families and neighborhoods safe is our top priority. We must work together to ensure our well-being and quality of life is maintained. We’ll explore community based programming that will provide opportunities for our most vulnerable residents and directly  address ongoing public safety concerns like traffic/pedestrian safety.

Our local businesses are the backbone of our community. Our small businesses provide valuable services to our community’s residents and they must be supported. I will work to ensure our local Lakewood businesses have the resources they need to succeed in an evolving economy and identify new business opportunities for the community.

is a human right.  It should be accessible and affordable and we need to do everything in our capacity to ensure that our community has adequate resources to provide healthy and  safe spaces for community residents to reside. I will take the lead in working on this issue by identifying opportunities that have worked in other communities, listening to the concerns of our current residents, and working to identify and secure funding to help support the development of new homes that are needed for our ever growing population.
